I have a family of four and we live in medium; let’s say a little smaller than a medium house. The entire space of a den downstairs was just spare and I had always been thinking of utilizing it in something worthwhile. Therefore, I and my husband decided that we should re-furnish it into a large & well organized master bedroom and we started the essential work. Converting the entire empty space into a whole new master bedroom gave more space to our daughters to have their own big separate rooms upstairs where they didn’t have any ‘privacy invasion’ issues. Nevertheless, we still faced one huge problem downstairs and that was of a closet organizer because our room always seemed pretty messy with no closet organizer. Moreover, after establishing the whole new fully furnished master bedroom we honestly, didn’t want to spend big bucks on building new walk in closets. Hence, the Whitmor double rod closet seemed to be the best option for us because we needed something sturdy and durable yet something which cost us economically. Well, we loved their double rod closets which were pretty simple and easy to assemble and did not even take up much of our time or efforts. The first one only took around 45 minutes while the second one took 20 minutes or so. To our amazement, the whole kit was really light weigh yet it was still very strong.
It suits me perfectly as I have enough storage space for all my clothes. I use the top hanging bar to hang my smaller shirts and tops and the bottom or lower hanging bar for hanging my sweatshirts as well as my sweaters. I love buying clothes and at the moment I have 50 or more shirts for myself. I have hung all these shirts on the top bar and still it does not give the impression of being strained or burdened. As far as my sweatshirts and sweaters go, well, I have a whole stock of those too which go in the lower or bottom bar. It is still sturdy and can hold a little more than that. There are shelves on the sides which I utilized in best manner by arranging my jeans on one the side shelves. I folded them and stacked them there. Then I used another side shelf to place my other styles of pants. Nevertheless, that does not mean that I did not have enough space left on the hanging bars, I did, but I just wanted to reserve that space for more shirts and tops. I was more pleased when I stocked the additional storage space with my handbags, socks, undergarments and other bulky stuff of the house. Seriously, the storage space of the Whitmor double rod freestanding closets amazes me!
Okay, so enough of my story and my items. The interesting part is the closet rack we wanted for my husband turned out to be as great as we expected. I stocked the bins with his under garments and socks; placed his pants on the bottom hanging bar and all of his shirts on the top hanging bar. His other special clothes such as his uniform and similar important items are stocked up on the top shelves along with his sports gears and his boots.
All in all, I loved what my closet system has turned out to be. Go ahead and see what other families have to say about it
